CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The World Pharmacist Day 2024 was grandly celebrated at the Department of Pharmacy, Barkatullah University. This three-day event aimed to recognize and promote the vital role of pharmacists in healthcare services.

The event featured a tree plantation drive, various competitions, and expert lectures as its main highlights. The chief guest, Sanjay Kumar Jain, President of the Pharmacy Council of India, Madhya Pradesh, emphasized the growing importance and contribution of pharmacists in the field of pharmacy during his address. Also present on the occasion was Professor Suresh Kumar Jain, Vice-Chancellor of Barkatullah University, Bhopal, who inspired students to pursue innovation and excellence in the field of pharmacy. Professor Ragini Gothalwal, Head of the Department, shared motivating insights on the significance of pharmacy and the role of pharmacists in society in her address. She emphasized that pharmacists play a crucial role in strengthening public health, and their contributions are invaluable.

A tree plantation drive was organized under the “One Tree in the Name of Mother” initiative, highlighting the important connection between environmental conservation and healthcare. Both students and faculty members participated enthusiastically in this campaign. Additionally, several pharmacy-related competitions were conducted, including poster presentations and slogan contests, providing students with an opportunity to showcase their knowledge and skills.

On the final day of the event, Suman Kumar Ghosh, Director and Founder of MAPASU e-Learning PharmaGuide Services LLP, delivered a special online lecture. He discussed in-depth the evolving role of pharmacy in the digital era and its impact, which was highly appreciated by both students and faculty.

The three-day program concluded with a vote of thanks from Professor Ragini Gothalwal, where she expressed gratitude to all the guests, organizers, and students for their efforts. The event not only increased awareness about the field of pharmacy among students but also underscored their responsibilities towards society. The formal vote of thanks was presented by Rachna Akhand Giri, who acknowledged the support and contributions that led to the success of the event.
