CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Scope Global Skills University (SGSU), Bhopal, celebrated World Pharmacists Day 2026 with enthusiasm and active participation at Sharda Auditorium. The theme of this year’s programme was “Empowering pharmacists for a better future.” The objective of the event was to underline the important role of pharmacists in safe and responsible use of medicines, proper counselling of patients, drug safety and public health awareness.
On the occasion, SGSU Chancellor Dr. Siddharth Chaturvedi said, “Pharmacists have an important role in strengthening health services and ensuring the safe and responsible use of medicines. SGSU is committed to providing students with quality education, practical experience and essential skills so that they can become responsible health professionals and make meaningful contributions to the development of society.”
SGSU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Vijay Singh said, “World Pharmacists Day provides an opportunity to recognise the contribution of pharmacists to health services and public welfare. Such academic and co-curricular activities play an important role in developing professional knowledge, communication skills, confidence and a sense of social responsibility among students.”
SGSU Registrar Dr. Saitesh Kumar Sinha said, “The active participation of students in various activities reflects their enthusiasm, creativity and commitment towards pharmacy. Activities such as the pharmacy awareness rally provide students an opportunity to connect their academic knowledge with their responsibility towards society.” Principal of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences Dr. Khushi Chouksey encouraged students to continuously strengthen their professional knowledge, communication skills and responsibility towards patients and society.
On World Pharmacists Day, a pharmacy quiz, rangoli competition, pharmacy dance act and pharmacy awareness rally were organised for students. Through the various activities, students showcased their knowledge, creativity, teamwork and professional spirit. Through the awareness rally, students conveyed the message of rational and responsible use of medicines to the public.
Dean Academics Dr. V. K. Gupta, Dean Students’ Welfare (DSW) Dr. Vinod Kumar Sharma and Principal of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences Dr. Khushi Chouksey, along with university teachers and students, were present at the programme. University officials appreciated the active participation of students and teachers and encouraged them to fulfil their responsibilities towards health services and society. The programme was successfully organised under the guidance of Dr. Khushi Chouksey with the cooperation of the teachers and students of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
