CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News New Delhi: WWF-India's environmental information programme has launched a nationwide Green Diwali campaign running from 20 October to 8 November, the Environment Ministry said on Tuesday.
The programme will involve schools, colleges, resident associations and community groups, with a focus on 130 National Clean Air Programme cities. It encourages avoiding firecrackers, choosing energy-efficient lights, reducing single-use plastic and separating waste.
Participating groups can organise pledge activities and submit a brief record of their work. The ministry-supported campaign follows the Mission LiFE framework and also encourages people to choose local products.
