CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: XIM University, committed to providing excellence in education and developing responsible future leaders, proudly hosted the convocation ceremony of yet another distinguished batch at its grand new campus auditorium. The education and training received by these graduates have equipped them with expertise in strategic thinking, leadership skills, and innovation, making them leaders in a rapidly changing global market.
This convocation ceremony marks an important milestone in the students’ lives, symbolizing their transition from one phase to another. It is a moment when students reflect on the knowledge, skills, and values they have acquired at XIM University. A total of 15 doctoral degrees and 769 postgraduate degrees were awarded during the ceremony.
The chief guest at the ceremony was Rajeev Memani, currently the Chairman of Ernst & Young LLP for the India Region and the Chairman of the Growth Markets Council. He is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University. He has been appointed as the President of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for the year 2024-25. He has actively participated in several high-level committees set up by the Government of India. For his outstanding contributions to the business sector, XIM University conferred him with an honorary Doctorate in Business Management.
The ceremony was further dignified by the presence of several prominent university officials, including Father Jerome Kutinha, S.J., Chairperson, Board of Governors; Director Rajeev Kaul, Emeritus Chairman; Father Antony R. Uwari, S.J., Vice Chancellor; Father S. Antony Raj, S.J., Registrar; Father Arokiadas Vanathiyan, S.J., Chief Financial Officer; and various Deans and distinguished Board members of the university.
Director Neeraj Kumar, Dean of the School of Rural Management, welcomed all students, parents, distinguished guests, and attendees.
Father Antony R. Uwari, Vice Chancellor, mentioned the university’s achievements and milestones during the past year in his report.
The Chief Guest presented Academic Excellence Medals to the top rank holders from various schools. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Father S. Antony Raj.
Vice Chancellor’s Statement: “XIM’s Ambassadors are entrusted with the responsibility to guide others with knowledge, courage, and compassion.”
He praised the efforts of the Government of India and the Odisha Government in advancing higher education and nation-building.
Chief Guest’s Statement: “Technology will continue to redefine our work and lives,” he said, “but it cannot change who we are. Our values, identity, and purpose should be our guiding principles.”
He emphasized the importance of lifelong learning and real experience in today’s AI-driven era.
“Future leaders will be collaborative—open, adaptable, and curious. In a complex world, simplicity may be the ultimate excellence. Boring is beautiful,” he said with a smile.
