The Xavier Institute of Management (XIM) University, located in Bhubaneswar, celebrated its Foundation Day at its old campus, marking a special occasion to honor the university’s rich legacy and achievements.
The university community and invited guests had the privilege of attending a lecture by Rakesh Bharti Mittal, Vice Chairman of Bharti Enterprises, one of India’s leading business groups with interests in telecom services, financial services, processed foods, and real estate. A staunch advocate of quality education, Mittal is actively involved in various initiatives aimed at reforming school and higher education. Emphasizing the need to prepare youth for the future, he highlighted the importance of equipping them with knowledge about the latest trends and technologies.

The ceremony was further graced by the presence of XIM University’s key officials, including Reverend Father Antony R. Uvari, S.J. (Vice Chancellor), Reverend Father S. Antony Raj, S.J. (Registrar), Reverend Father V. Arokiadas, S.J. (Chief Finance Officer), prominent board members, and esteemed faculty.
During the event, Rakesh Bharti Mittal was conferred with an honorary doctorate in business management by the university, symbolizing its commitment to inspiring youth and contributing to nation-building.
The event provided XIM University’s management students with a unique opportunity to interact with an industry stalwart like Mittal. Additionally, five staff members were recognized for their long-standing and exemplary service.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Registrar Reverend Father S. Antony Raj, S.J., who expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the program’s success.
