CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the occasion of International Yoga Day 2025, Madhya Pradesh Bhoj (Open) University, Bhopal organized a program titled “Yoga Sangam” at the university’s main campus. The event was held under the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”, declared by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. The main objective was to establish the universal relevance of yoga and spread awareness about holistic health.

The event was one of the key programs under the proposed “Yoga Sangam” initiative, marking the 10th anniversary of International Yoga Day, aimed at ensuring last-mile access to yoga through mass participation.

The program began with the live telecast of the Yoga Practice Program by the Government of Madhya Pradesh, followed by an address by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, and a live broadcast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech from Visakhapatnam.

The yoga session was conducted by expert instructor Dr. Rakhi Mishra, who guided participants through various asanas, pranayama, and meditation techniques as per the Common Yoga Protocol. She also explained the scientific aspects, benefits, and precautions associated with each practice.

“Yoga Sangam” was not just a yoga session; it symbolized India’s cultural heritage, national unity, and public health promotion. It inspired participants to adopt yoga in daily life and highlighted its scientific and practical value.

Prof. of Practice Dr. B. B. Sharma of Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University discussed the significance of yoga in life and referred to Maharshi Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. Regional Director Harshvardhan Tomar highlighted the ideals of Indian culture embedded in yoga, calling it not just physical exercise but a philosophy of life.

Instructor Dr. Rakhi Mishra emphasized this year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” and stated that adopting yoga daily can help prevent physical ailments. She advised everyone to walk barefoot for at least 30 minutes daily, as acupressure benefits can heal many health issues.

Registrar Sushil Manderia, the event coordinator, expressed gratitude and encouraged all to adopt yoga. He also explained the significance of Yogini Ekadashi. On behalf of the university, Directors Vibha Mishra, Anita Kaushal, and Registrar Sushil Manderia honored Dr. Rakhi Mishra and her associate Mr. Sinha for their valuable contribution.
