CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of International Yoga Day, various activities were organized under the theme ‘Yoga Unplugged’, jointly conducted by the National Institute of Naturopathy (Pune), Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, and Sant Hirdaram Institute of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences Women’s College.
As part of this initiative, a cultural program was held at the Sant Hirdaram Auditorium. The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp and Vedic chanting performed by the students of the college. Following this, the students gave mesmerizing performances featuring yoga-themed dance forms, Bharatanatyam, and various folk dances representing different Indian states.
The program was presided over by the institution’s revered President, Param Shraddhey Siddhbhaauji, with Shri Chhote Singh (IAS), Commissioner, Panchayati Raj Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, as the chief guest, and Dr. K.S. Budhwani, a renowned pediatrician, as the special guest.
In his address, Chief Guest Chhote Singh (IAS) enlightened the students and attendees about the Government of India’s efforts in promoting yoga as a part of everyday lifestyle and encouraged the students of the yoga and naturopathy faculty to become brand ambassadors of yoga.
To celebrate India’s rich art and culture, an exhibition was also organized in the college auditorium showcasing Gond art, jute craft, and Bhairavgarh print (Malwa region), aiming to inspire interest in Indian folk art and traditions.
On the concluding day of the program, senior naturopathy physician Dr. Naveen K.V. addressed the students on the topic “Scientific Approach Toward Yoga and Naturopathy”, highlighting the scientific importance of yoga.
A workshop on Kriya Yoga Meditation was also held, where Dr. Varun Malhotra, Additional Professor from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhopal, guided the students.
All sessions and programs proved highly educational and beneficial for students’ personal development. The students participated in all activities with great enthusiasm. The event concluded with the distribution of attractive prizes to the winners.
