CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a major welfare initiative at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow. In a significant move to strengthen educational and social security frameworks, the government transferred ₹3,350 crore directly into the bank accounts of 27,99,982 students. These beneficiaries included students from Classes 9 and 10 as well as those enrolled in post-matriculation courses, ensuring financial support for their academic pursuits.

The initiative reflects the state government’s continued commitment to promoting education and reducing financial barriers for students across Uttar Pradesh. In addition to educational assistance, the Chief Minister also disbursed ₹100 crore to 33,334 beneficiaries under the National Family Benefit Scheme. This scheme provides crucial financial aid to families living below the poverty line following the death of the primary breadwinner.

The direct benefit transfer (DBT) mechanism ensured transparency, efficiency, and timely delivery of funds, eliminating intermediaries and minimizing delays. This large-scale disbursement underscores the government’s focus on inclusive development, social welfare, and empowerment of economically weaker sections through targeted financial support programs.
