CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced that the state government will provide government jobs to one lakh youths over the next six months, before the announcement of the next Assembly election. He said the recruitment process would begin from September 19.
Addressing a programme in Gorakhpur, Yogi said around 9.5 lakh youths had already received government jobs under his government and another one lakh appointments would be made in the coming six months. He said the recruitment would cover different government departments, with a significant share expected in the police and Home Guards departments.
The Chief Minister also spoke about the recruitment process and said appointments would be made without discrimination and through merit-based procedures while following reservation provisions. Earlier, the government had also announced recruitment for teaching positions in basic and secondary schools.
On law and order, Yogi said Uttar Pradesh was now free from curfews and riots and that the government had established the rule of law. These remarks reflect the Chief Minister’s own assessment of the state’s law-and-order situation and his criticism of previous governments.
The latest announcement comes ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly election and places employment and recruitment among the key issues being highlighted by the state government.
