CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Uttar Pradesh government has extended an annual cashless healthcare facility of up to ₹5 lakh to more than 31,000 Provincial Raksak Dal (PRD) volunteers and their family members. The facility is available at government and government-empanelled hospitals under the Chief Minister’s PRD Cashless Medical Scheme.
The scheme is expected to benefit more than 1.5 lakh family members of PRD volunteers. The initiative aims to reduce the financial burden associated with major medical treatment and provide families with access to cashless healthcare when required.
Along with the healthcare facility, the government has also increased the daily duty allowance of PRD volunteers from ₹500 to ₹600. The announcement was made during a PRD volunteers’ conference in Gorakhpur, where Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also distributed cashless medical cards to selected volunteers.
The government has also extended similar healthcare protection to other service groups, including cooks working in council schools and Anganwadi workers and helpers. These groups have been provided family-based cashless treatment of up to ₹5 lakh annually along with increases in their honorarium.
The measures are aimed at strengthening financial and health security for personnel and workers involved in delivering public services across Uttar Pradesh.
