Ahead of Diwali, the Uttar Pradesh government has given revenue department employees the gift of promotion. A total of 206 lekhpals and 79 collection amins in the state have been promoted to the post of revenue inspector. The decision has benefited 285 employees in all.
The government’s decision is being seen as important for employees who had been waiting for promotion for a long time. With the promotions, the responsibilities and areas of work of the employees concerned will also change. Employees serving in the revenue department as lekhpals and collection amins will now get the opportunity to take on a new role as revenue inspectors.
The decision, issued before the festival, has created an atmosphere of happiness among employees. After the promotion process is completed, the personnel concerned will be assigned new responsibilities under the departmental system. The government’s move is also expected to give momentum to the functioning of the revenue department.
