CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a sharp political attack on the Congress and Samajwadi Party during his visit to Raebareli, accusing opposition parties of weakening social unity and neglecting development. Addressing a public programme, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 346 development projects worth around ₹879 crore.
Yogi Adityanath targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his recent remarks concerning the Manusmriti and alleged that Congress politics had historically contributed to divisions within the country and society. He accused the party of following an appeasement-oriented approach and claimed that such politics had weakened social harmony.
The Chief Minister also criticised Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, questioning the party’s internal functioning and alleging that political families continue to dominate its decision-making. He further claimed that Congress, SP and their allies were attempting to undermine the security and identity of Uttar Pradesh and India.
Speaking about Raebareli, Yogi said the district had long been regarded as a VIP constituency but had remained affected by deprivation and inadequate development. He claimed that the situation has changed under BJP-led governments, with new infrastructure and welfare initiatives reaching the region.
The remarks add to the growing political confrontation in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.
