CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News /Agencies/ Bhopal: CNN Central News and Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News / Agencies: Ahead of Diwali and the grand Deepotsav to be held in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has written a special letter to the people of the state. In it, he appealed to people to reach Ayodhya with their families and friends and take part in Deepotsav. The chief minister also underlined the religious, cultural and economic significance of the festival.

In his message, Yogi Adityanath said Deepotsav is not only a festival of lights, but a great festival linked to Sanatan culture, faith and traditions. Along with commemorating Lord Shri Ram’s return to Ayodhya, it inspires life values such as sacrifice, dignity and dedication. Citing the example of Lord Shri Ram’s brother Bharat, he said Bharat renounced the comforts of power for 14 years and governed by placing Shri Ram’s wooden sandals on the throne. This teaches that power does not mean entitlement, but the fulfilment of responsibility.

Describing Deepotsav as a confluence of faith and the economy, the chief minister said such events create employment and income opportunities for potters, flower sellers, hotel operators and local traders. He urged people to buy earthen lamps and other products made by local artisans. Yogi Adityanath appealed to the people of the state to make Diwali joyful for needy families as well, according to their capacity, by giving them lamps, sweets and new clothes. He also gave a message to the youth to adopt positive thinking and stay away from negativity.
