CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Youth Parliament Staged at Sarojini Naidu Government Girls College
The Departments of Political Science and Public Administration of Sarojini Naidu Government Girls College organized a Youth Parliament enactment program. Sponsored by the Pt. Kunjilal Parliamentary Institute, Bhopal, the event witnessed the active participation of 28 students from the college.
The students enacted various proceedings of the Parliament, including Calling Attention Motion, Question Hour, Oath-Taking Ceremony, the President’s Address, and Zero Hour.
Key issues raised during Question Hour included:
Government’s efforts to curb rising railway accidents
Deaths of Mahakumbh pilgrims due to a stampede at New Delhi Railway Station
Mistreatment of undocumented Indian immigrants during deportation from the US
Rising GST rates and inflation in the country
The 2024 CAG report showing 28% of defense modernization funds unused and delays in distributing bulletproof jackets to soldiers
Amid opposition uproar and ruling party desk-thumping, answers were delivered by the Prime Minister, Railway Minister, Home Minister, Defense Minister, and Finance Minister.
Presiding over the program, Principal Deepti Srivastava emphasized that such activities not only create political awareness among students but also help them gain a better understanding of parliamentary procedures, paving the way for them to become responsible future leaders. She also remarked that the enactment reflects how India has nurtured and strengthened democratic values post-independence.
Ravineesh Tiwari, M.L. Manwani, and Arun Kumar Mishra from Pt. Kunjilal Parliamentary Institute served as judges.
Vandana Singh, Head of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, delivered the vote of thanks.
Faculty members Seema Pathak, Kavita Singh, Amar Nayak, Ramayan Patel, and Swarn Dubey were also present at the event.
