CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress / ITDC News Bhopal: Veteran Bollywood actor Zeenat Aman has reacted to actor Mumtaz’s dig at her. Mumtaz had said that Zeenat should be the last person to give relationship advice as her own marriage was a “living hell”. Zeenat said, unlike Mumtaz, she doesn’t “tear down her colleagues.”
Mumtaz had criticised Zeenat for promoting live-in relationships in one of her Instagram posts. She told an entertainment portal, “Zeenat should be careful what she is advising. Her marriage was a living hell. She should be the last person doling out advice on relationships.”
In a latest interview with Hindustan Times, Zeenat said she has never commented on the personal lives of her colleagues. “Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I’ve never been one to comment on others’ personal lives or tear down my colleagues, and I’m not going to start now.”
Mumtaz’s comment on Zeenat came after the latter shared a post on Instagram stating, “If you’re in a relationship, I strongly recommend that you LIVE TOGETHER before getting married! I’m aware that Indian society is a little uptight about “living in sin” but then again, society is uptight about so many things! Log kya kahenge? (What will people say?) (sic).”
However, Mumtaz opined that Zeenat wrote in favour of live-in relationships to “sound like a cool aunty.”
“She (Zeenat) has all of a sudden come into this huge social media popularity, and I can understand her excitement about sounding like a cool aunty. But giving advice that is counter to our moral values is not the solution to increasing your following,” Mumtaz was quoted as saying by an entertainment portal.
Mumtaz and Zeenat Aman shared the screen in the Dev Anand-led film ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’.
