Nagoya. India produced a strong performance on the fifth day of the Asian Games 2026, winning five medals. Indian athletes secured medals in athletics, wushu, shooting and rowing. The tally included two silver and three bronze medals.
In athletics, India’s mixed 4×400 metre relay team won the silver medal. The quartet of TS Manu, MR Poovamma, Vishal TK and Vithya Ramraj clocked 3:14.46 minutes to finish second. Bahrain won the gold medal with an Asian Games record time of 3:12.87 minutes. Vithya Ramraj delivered a strong final leg to help India secure silver. In the women’s 10,000 metre race, Seema Kumari won the bronze medal. She recorded a time of 32:50.05 minutes. This is India’s first women’s medal in this event at the Asian Games after 16 years.
In wushu, Naorem Roshibina Devi won silver, while in rowing, Satnam Singh and Salman Khan claimed bronze in the men’s double sculls. In mixed team skeet, Anantjeet Singh Naruka and Parinaaz Dhaliwal secured the bronze medal. With these five medals, India’s medal count at the Asian Games rose rapidly. After the fifth day, India’s performance was significant in terms of winning medals across several sports.
