CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Loud music, DJs, drums, loudspeakers and fireworks during festivals may add to the celebratory atmosphere, but excessive sound can affect health. According to doctors, very loud and sudden noise can activate the body’s stress response, raising blood pressure and heart rate and putting additional pressure on the heart.
Experts say the impact may be greater on people with high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, heart failure or heart rhythm problems. Continuous loud noise at night also affects sleep, which can increase stress and heart-related risks. Long-term exposure to excessive noise has also been linked to a higher risk of high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke.
Doctors advise people to avoid continuous exposure to loud sound while celebrating festivals. Loudspeakers and DJs should be kept away from sensitive areas such as homes and hospitals, and noise should be reduced at night. People already suffering from heart disease should take special precautions.
