A meeting with freight vendors was organized at the Bhopal Divisional Railway Manager’s (DRM) Office under the chairmanship of Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Devashish Tripathi. The primary objective of the meeting was to promote freight loading and discuss measures to increase railway revenue.
Representatives from ITC, Food Corporation of India (FCI), Madhya Pradesh State Civil Supplies Corporation, Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company, Mandideep Container Corporation, and other key stakeholders participated in the discussions.
Data Analysis & Railway Incentives
A PowerPoint presentation was used to analyze last year’s and current year’s freight transport trends, helping assess market potential. Special emphasis was placed on proposed railway facilities, where vendors were informed about various incentive schemes and benefits aimed at encouraging more freight movement via railways.
Traders also raised concerns regarding challenges in freight transportation, and railway officials assured swift resolutions to their issues. Under the guidance of the Divisional Railway Manager, the Business Development Unit (BDU) has been actively working to enhance trade partnerships and encourage vendors to use railway freight services.
Future Plans for Freight Expansion
Discussions were held on new initiatives to further boost freight transport, including improving logistics facilities and adopting digital technologies for better efficiency.
