CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Many young people today complain of forgetfulness, difficulty concentrating, frequent distraction while working and mental fatigue. In common usage, these symptoms are referred to as “brain fog”. It is not a separate disease in itself, but may be a set of symptoms linked to another problem or health condition. Lack of sleep, continuous stress, anxiety, poor diet and excessive fatigue may be possible causes. In some cases, vitamin B12 deficiency, thyroid problems, sleep-related disorders or the effect of certain medicines can also affect memory and concentration.
To get relief from brain fog, the first priority should be adequate and regular sleep, a balanced diet, sufficient water intake and regular physical activity. Reducing stress and taking breaks from excessive screen use may also help. Prolonged fatigue and mental cloudiness should not be ignored. If forgetfulness or difficulty concentrating continues, begins to affect daily work, or is accompanied by extreme fatigue, changes in weight, sleep problems or other symptoms, a doctor should be consulted. If required, physicians can identify the cause through blood tests or other examinations.
