The southwest monsoon has withdrawn from India, but uneven rainfall distribution has raised concerns over water availability, agriculture and reservoir levels.

Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 21 degrees Celsius at Safdarjung on Sunday, the second-lowest September reading since 2001, amid rain and winds.

The southwest monsoon has begun withdrawing from western Rajasthan, while about 43% of India’s geographical area remains rainfall-deficient as of September 19.

IMD says conditions are favourable for southwest monsoon withdrawal from parts of western Rajasthan around September 19, while rain may continue in UP, Maharashtra and central India.
